Steps to Certification

At ACT San Antonio, we understand your time is valuable which is why our goal is to make the alternative teacher certification process as easy as possible. Our commitment goes above and beyond to help you not only become a certified teacher in San Antonio, but to obtain a teaching position in the fields you are interested in. In order to assist you through this difficult process, we provide you with two easy to receive your alternative teacher certification. By providing you with options, the teacher certification process can be altered to fit your needs and your schedule.

Accepted to ACT • Complete application process • Transcript evaluation - 2.5 GPA or 2.5 in last 60 hours • Pay application fee • Receive Approved Applicant Letter • Begin networking!
Begin securing Field Based Experiences •Complete 30 hours • TEA approved school	Begin Studying for TExES • Work through self study checklist: • Take practice test - sign up for reviews	Pay for Training Packet • Get busy with online training • Must pick up in office in person • Attend face to face classes
FBE must be complete	Take and pass Content TExES exam	Training must be complete
Receive Letter of Eligibility
Secure Employment or apply for clinical teaching. Notify office and schedule Orientation to complete paperwork. Complete 1 year teaching internship or 12 week clinical teaching assignment PAY INTERNSHIP FEE
